In the game, there are three modes: Career, Multiplayer, and Events. In career mode, you have to completes single-player “chapters” that each consist of several series of races focusing on a certain car class or manufacturer. You can try your driving skill against up to 7 real players from all over the world in the online multiplayer mode. In Events, you can participate in a daily or weekly competition to beat other players times to earn other items.
There are three race types in Asphalt 9. The “classic” race mode from previous games has returned alongside new races, “Time Attack” and “Hunted”. In Time Attack, your car has to cross the finish line before a timer runs out. In Hunted, you must escape a police pursuit in a car chase without crashing or running out of time.
